The same is applicable to PSO2 Meseta collaborations such as the Final Fantasy XIV collaboration with Odin (which exists as far as I know) where I don't understand how much Square Enix is involved that for Sega to have the ability to update assets there. When it was purely just Phantasy Star-related items (like character outfits, cameos from other games, or other Sega-related possessions ) I could envision that this likely would have been achieved, or would be done. But from the Global variant we already don't have the existence of Cougar NX so I don't exactly know if there are additional issues regarding Sega's properties that might also contribute to not updating everything they could within reason.
I can imagine that likely out there we will still see someone wearing those older collaboration things even if they are not rigged up to the same standards as new cosmetics in a similar manner and that there definitely would have been outrage if it was made unusable or obsolete. Collabs who have had their makeup removed still have their assets exist on the game so those will likely still be accessible for jp players.
Only improvements we will likely see is the brand new engine enhancing shadows, shadows, colors, particle effects and projecting them against the drapes. You may take a look how just implementing better shadows and colours can enhance old equipment by checking ReShade screenshots. I really LOVE that. Plus it looks like they got more specific on what exactly fashion wise conveys over! Two games in one! ~ That. Absolute. Madmen. They almost connected and crammed two distinct MMOs in 1 client. I thought they just place them in the same launcher but in the same CLIENT!? Yeah, so its likely to be a single game, not two separate games? Log in, then choose your"boat" to go between PSO2 or NGS.
Neat idea. Its an interesting way of creating a new game, while not having the problem of"lacking material" by incorporating on all of the PSO2 stuff. I truly believed this was made clear in the trailer lol. They also cleverly avoided the problem on cooperation and Voice licenses with this move as it's essentially the exact same game therefore all collab items are still valid. Mad lads SEGA pulling one of the greatest expansion without leaving behind the older game in the same customer lol.
NGS the game will work as a separate block, you can essentially think of it like PVP/Battle Arena and Challenge Quest. All NGS-specific fashions are essentially better: they look better, have more customizations accessible, and you can move your fingers together. Seems like Sega can't retroactively change PSO2 styles into NGS fashions, your character is essentially either going to cheap meseta pso2 or NGS model predicated on what outfit/wear/part they have on. It's from this that some incompatibilities may employ.
